Ancient techniques appeal to your neurological system
Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention.
The word Qigong is comprised of two Chinese words. Qi, pronounced "chee" means the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe. Gong, pronounced "gung," means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
Gentle movement, breathing and meditation techniques, based on the art of Qigong, are a powerful, proven approach to managing stress that will equip you with the tools you need to manage stress and live with health and vitality.

Managing Stress and Increasing Performance
When stressed, your body goes into survival mode. This instantaneous reaction does not involve the cortical or thinking centers of the brain. Instead, the quick response to stress is driven by the emotional centers of the brain, which automatically send signals to the rest of your body. Like any habit, repeatedly yielding to stress only reinforces it. Thoughts and feelings can loop back and ingrain poor patterns. Over time, stress habits begin to feel normal and feel like reality, this colors our perceptions and emotional responses to life’s events. Like everything else, our response to stress is a skill that we practice and develop.
Qigong: Effective Practice
The practice of Qigong trains you to be natural, at ease and empowered in your own body by improving your mental focus, how you move, stand, and breathe. Through the regular practice of qigong, you improve performance by increasing strength, stamina, speed, flexibility, coordination, sensitivity and precision.
Anyone and everyone – regardless of age, ability or beliefs can practice qigong to become healthier, happier and live longer with quality.

"I have always believed that our well-being lies deeper than our physical body. It is in this knowing that I joyfully do the work I do today. I have a Shiatsu and Qigong healing practice in Stillwater since 1998.
"I formally began to study energy healing in 1990. In 1996, I studied Shiatsu and Asian based therapies at the Minnesota Center for Shiatsu Study. The study of Spring Forest Qigong, begun in 2002, further enhances my understanding of the power of energy healing."
